The Return To Monkey Island is an unexpected spectacular return of the series producer Ron Gilbert that continues the epic story of the legendary adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island as well as Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.

Guybrush Threepwood has been a lengthy time since he was last in an intellectual battle with LeChuck and his enemy from the world of zombies. Guybrush’s long-time love Elaine Marley has turned his attention away from government and Guybrush is now unfulfilled and adrift, not having discovered The Secret of Monkey Island. The young, hip pirates headed by Captain Madison has snubbed the old guard to the side, Melee Island has taken a downward turn, and famous businessman Stan has been incarcerated due to “marketing-related offenses”.
